As part of the grade 8 curriculum, teachers assigned students to creating a picture book that showcased diverse exceptionalities and personalized stories representing the challenges and successes of this unique population. Stories included main characters or themes that include: isolation, loneliness and the journy to overcoming their challenges. Stories included bullying and exceptionalities such as; ADHD, anxiety, etc. Students wrote, illustrated, and published their own books which were showcased in the SGG library. Students shareed their picture books with the primary students making class visits and an invitational book reading.
