“In a world of professional presenters, few can captivate, educate and motivate like John Draper.” John humorously and candidly draws from his own experiences captivating his listeners drawing their attention to the reality and challenges of living with a disability. The message is loud and clear as students are motivated to change their attitudes and make a difference in their schools by building a school community that is accessible and inclusive of everyone. Through adaptive computer technology, John creates an interactive 30 minute presentation leaving students empowered to be positive leaders in their school. Their experience was “eye opening”, “memorable” and “motivating”. John later conducted a 25 minute interactive learning activity with grade 6 students using a word board to communicate and learn about assistive communication technology. What a wonderful learning opportunity for all. This event was subsidized by the Ministry of Education Speakup grant for the ICAN initiative. Please visit www.togetherwerock.com for more information.
